SAP Ariba Alternatives for Mid-Size Indian Manufacturers (2026)
Who SAP Ariba suits, why mid-size Indian plants look elsewhere, and six alternatives compared on scope, published price, Tally support and who each one fits, as of October 2026.
13 October 2026 · 11 min read
SAP Ariba is a cloud procurement suite built for large companies that buy through formal sourcing events, contracts and a supplier network. A mid-size Indian manufacturer usually needs something narrower: indent, quotation, purchase order, goods receipt and live stock, run by a small team, often with accounts in Tally. The closest alternatives are SAP Business One and ERPNext if you want a full ERP, TYASuite and Precoro if you want a procure-to-pay tool, and TranZact or IndustryPrime if you want software built for Indian factories. Which one fits depends on how much of the business you want in one system and how many people will use it.
A note on who wrote this. IndustryPrime publishes this page, and IndustryPrime is one of the six options. We describe every product, including ours, from its own website and published price list, as of October 2026. Sources are listed at the end. Prices change, so check each one before you decide.
Key points
- SAP does not publish a buyer price for Ariba. It is quoted.
- Suppliers who trade with you on SAP Business Network pay network fees once they pass a threshold, under SAP's published schedule.
- Of the six alternatives here, three publish a subscription price on their own website: TranZact, Precoro and IndustryPrime. ERPNext is free software; its hosting price is published, and setup is extra.
- If your accounts stay in Tally, check how each option gets purchase data into Tally before anything else.
Who SAP Ariba suits
SAP describes Ariba as a set of cloud applications for the whole source-to-pay process: sourcing, contracts, buying, invoicing and supplier management. Buyers and suppliers exchange orders and invoices through SAP Business Network, which used to be called Ariba Network.
Ariba supports Indian GST. SAP documents an India e-invoice flow that sends invoices to the government's Invoice Registration Portal, and suppliers set up a separate legal profile for each state they operate in.
It suits a company that:
- Runs SAP ERP already.
- Buys large volumes through planned sourcing events and contracts.
- Has a central procurement team and many plants or business units.
- Trades with suppliers who are already on SAP Business Network.
If that describes you, Ariba may be the right tool, and this page is not trying to change your mind.
Why mid-size plants look elsewhere
The price is quoted, not published. You cannot work out the cost before talking to SAP or a partner.
Suppliers may pay too. SAP's supplier fee page says a supplier's account becomes chargeable once it passes both 5 documents and USD 50,000 with any customer in a year. As of October 2026, annual packages then run from USD 50 (Bronze) to USD 5,500 (Platinum), plus a transaction fee of 0.155% of volume (0.35% for service entry sheets). Many vendors of a mid-size Indian plant are small local suppliers, so ask how many of yours would pass that threshold.
The daily work is different. In a 300-person plant, most purchase work is not a sourcing event. It is a store keeper raising an indent for bearings, a buyer collecting three quotes on WhatsApp, a PO, and a GRN at the gate. That work needs the store and purchase team to use the system every day, which is a question of fit as much as features.
Accounts are often in Tally. Many mid-size manufacturers keep their books in Tally, and SAP's Ariba pages do not mention Tally. Ask how purchase data would reach your accounts.
Six alternatives and who each suits
1. SAP Business One
Versus Ariba: this is SAP's product for smaller companies, and it is a different kind of system. Ariba handles buying and suppliers; Business One is a whole ERP for small and midsize businesses, with accounting, sales, purchasing, inventory and production together. It runs on your own server or in the cloud, with iOS and Android apps, and SAP reports more than 85,000 customers. Like Ariba, it has no published price: a partner quotes per-user licences and the rollout.
Suits: a plant that wants to replace Tally with one ERP for accounts, sales, purchase and stock, and has the budget for a partner-led rollout. Less suited to: a plant that wants to keep Tally for accounts and only fix purchase and store.
2. ERPNext
Versus Ariba: the opposite end on licence cost. ERPNext is free, open-source software (GPL-3.0) covering procurement, stock, manufacturing and accounting, so there is no licence to buy. You pay for hosting instead: your own server, or Frappe Cloud from USD 5 a month per site as of October 2026, not priced per user. GST e-invoice and e-way bill are added through the open-source India Compliance app. The cost moves from licence to setup, done by an implementation partner or your own technical team.
Suits: a plant with an in-house IT person, or a trusted partner, that wants a full ERP with no licence fee. Less suited to: a team with nobody to configure and maintain it.
3. TYASuite
Versus Ariba: an Indian procure-to-pay suite aimed at small and midsize businesses rather than large enterprises. TYASuite, based in Bengaluru, lists quotation (RFQ) management, purchase orders, inventory, vendor management, invoice automation and e-invoicing, with GST and TDS handling, hosted on AWS. On Capterra India, a third-party review site, it is rated 4.2 out of 5 from 78 reviews. Its pricing page did not load when we checked, so ask the vendor for a price.
Suits: a business that wants procure-to-pay and invoice automation from an Indian vendor across several kinds of spend, not only factory material. Check: how it connects to Tally, which we could not confirm on its own site.
4. TranZact
Versus Ariba: not a procurement suite but a system for running a factory. TranZact is built for Indian MSME manufacturers and covers sales, purchase, inventory and production. Purchase runs from material planning through indent, RFQ, PO and GRN to payment, and accounts stay in Tally through a one-way sync; it also lists Busy and Zoho. Unlike Ariba, it publishes prices. As of October 2026, billed yearly: a free plan for 3 users (lead management only), Scale at ₹12,500 a month for 6 users, and Dominate at ₹30,000 a month for 12 users, with extra users at ₹2,000 to ₹2,500 a month each.
Suits: a manufacturer that wants sales, production and purchase in one system with a small number of named users. Check: the user count, if many people across the plant need to raise indents or approve.
5. Precoro
Versus Ariba: also a procurement tool sold worldwide, but with prices on its website, in US dollars, pounds and euros. As of October 2026, billed annually, Core starts at USD 499 a month and Automation at USD 999 a month. Users are capped by plan (unlimited on Enterprise). Core covers purchase requests, POs, receipts and invoices; inventory and budgets come with Automation. Its India page describes line-level GST (CGST, SGST, IGST and cess), each GSTIN handled separately, TDS and TCS rules, and a go-live of 2 to 8 weeks. It lists QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite and other accounting integrations; Tally is not mentioned.
Suits: a company with offices or entities outside India, or one that uses an international accounting system. Check: Tally connection, and whether a USD price suits your budget.
6. IndustryPrime
Versus Ariba: IndustryPrime does not run sourcing events, contracts or a supplier network. It covers the daily buying and store work of a plant: indent, RFQ, quotation comparison, purchase order, GRN, invoice check against the GRN and payment tracking, with live stock and reorder levels. Vendors fill rate, make and GST per line in an online form from a link. Each GRN is posted to Tally as a purchase entry and the voucher number comes back. POs, indents and GRNs can be approved on the Android and iPhone app. As of October 2026 there is one plan with every feature: from ₹10,000 a month per division, billed quarterly, with unlimited users. Plants go live in 14 days from an Excel upload of items, vendors and stock. SAP integration is available, quoted separately.
Suits: a plant whose store and purchase teams still work on registers, Excel and phone calls, and that wants to keep Tally for accounts. Less suited to: a company that wants sales and accounts in the same system as purchase (look at SAP Business One, ERPNext or TranZact), or whose main need is large sourcing events and contracts across many sites (an enterprise suite is closer).
Also on enterprise shortlists: Procol and Kissflow
If you are a large company and want something in Ariba's class, two names come up often. Procol says more than 250 enterprises use it for AI-led sourcing, e-auctions, procure-to-pay and vendor onboarding, and it connects to SAP ERP and to SAP Ariba itself. Kissflow Procurement Cloud does not replace your ERP: it runs requisition, PO, goods receipt, invoice and three-way match next to the one you have, including SAP and Oracle. Neither publishes a price.

How to choose: a checklist
- Write down your real cycle first. Indent, quotes, PO, GRN, invoice check, payment, stock. Ask each vendor to show your cycle, not theirs.
- Decide what stays. If accounts stay in Tally, ask exactly what reaches Tally, when, and what happens when an entry fails.
- Count the users honestly. Store keepers, buyers, approvers, plant heads, the gate. Price the plan for that number, not for two buyers.
- Ask about your suppliers. Will they need to log in, register, or pay anything to send you a quote or an invoice?
- Get the full first-year cost. Licence or subscription, implementation, hosting, training and integration, all in writing.
- Ask how long go-live takes for a plant your size, and what data you must prepare.
- Test with your own data. Ten real indents, three real quotations, one real GRN. A demo on sample data shows very little.
- Check who answers when something breaks, and how fast.
When to stay with SAP Ariba
Stay if you run SAP ERP, buy through planned sourcing events and contracts, have a central procurement team, and your main suppliers already trade on SAP Business Network. A smaller tool would mean rebuilding work Ariba already does for you.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best SAP Ariba alternative for a mid-size Indian manufacturer?
There is no single answer. For one ERP that replaces Tally, look at SAP Business One or ERPNext. For procure-to-pay across many kinds of spend, look at TYASuite or Precoro. For factory purchase and store with Tally kept for accounts, look at TranZact or IndustryPrime. Shortlist two or three and test them on your own indents and quotations.
Is there a free alternative to SAP Ariba?
ERPNext is free, open-source software. You still pay for hosting, or run your own server, and for someone to set it up and maintain it.
Does SAP Ariba support Indian GST?
Yes. SAP documents an India GST e-invoice flow to the Invoice Registration Portal, and suppliers set up a legal profile for each state they operate in.
Do suppliers pay to use SAP Ariba?
Under SAP's published supplier fee schedule, a supplier's account becomes chargeable after it passes both 5 documents and USD 50,000 with any customer in a year. Fees then include, as of October 2026, an annual package from USD 50 to USD 5,500 and a transaction fee of 0.155% of volume.
Can we keep Tally and still automate purchase?
Yes. TranZact keeps accounts in Tally through a one-way sync. IndustryPrime posts each GRN to Tally as a purchase entry and brings the voucher number back. Zoho Inventory connects to Tally through a third-party connector. Ask any vendor to show the Tally entry live.
We already run SAP ERP. Do we need Ariba?
Not necessarily. Kissflow and Procol connect to SAP ERP, and IndustryPrime offers SAP integration, quoted separately. Compare them on cost and on how your plant teams will use them day to day.
To see how a plant-focused option handles your own indents, quotations and GRNs, you can book a free demo or see IndustryPrime pricing.
